World class entertainment will be on parade for the 2009 Birmingham Tattoo. A full list of performers will be announced in the coming months.

All the traditional elements of the Tattoo will be present again in this three-hour spectacular - from the massed bands, parade of standards, field gun competition, lone piper and the spectacular Grand Finale which will include the patriotic favourite ‘Land of Hope and Glory’.

Over 1,000 performers will take part in the Grand Finale at the 2008 Birmingham Tattoo

The Massed Marching Bands
The organisers expect to attract many leading bands to the 21st Birmingham Tattoo. Full details will be available in the New Year.

The Exciting Displays
Complementing the Massed Bands, the 2009 Birmingham Tattoo also features many displays that are sure to appeal to all the family. This will include the Inter-Service Field Gun Competition who will carry on a tradition which draws its origins from the siege of Ladysmith during the Boer War.

In addition, the British Flyball Association Dog Competition will give an excellent display of obedience and skill, whilst the United Kingdom Disco Dancers will impress everyone with their energetic performance.

A truly Spectacular performance
This year's Birmingham Tattoo will culminate in a spectacular Grand Finale featuring the Massed Bands and all the performers. The Birmingham Tattoo would not be complete without the ever-popular Closing Ceremony which will feature the Royal Air Force Cosford Queen's Colour, the traditional Land of Hope and Glory, the Evening Hymn and the Lone Piper.

This year's event has something for everyone and, with only two performances to choose from, tickets are already selling quickly. Following audience comments, the start of the Saturday performance has once again been brought forward to 6pm to ensure an earlier finish to allow you and your family to return home earlier or to enjoy a meal or drink after the show in one of Birmingham's restaurants or bars.
