"Driffield - A Drinking Town"

We would like to introduce ourselves and welcome you all to our own webpage on the topic which we love the most.

We are Richard Binnington and Dominic Vincent. Much to his embarrassment Richard is Driffield bred but Beverley born owing to the unusually large dimensions of his head compared with the unfortunately small dimensions of his mothers pelvic girdle. The combination of the two sadly required the provision of specialist medical treatment which in the 1960s was only available in the maternity wing of Beverley Westwood hospital. As a result Richard has for the last 33 years suffered the taunts of his townsfolk acquiring in the process the nickname 'Beaver'.

Dominic has even less right to claim any affinity with his adoptive town having been born in York some 28 miles away and having only moved to Driffield at the age of 8. Having had only 23 years connection with the town it is hard to see why he claims the right to make any comment on it at all. Large of girth and short of breath it is to be hoped that he lives to see the fruition of his dream - namely the provision of an authoritative guide to the pleasures available to those like minded persons who might visit the town and decide to tarry awhile.
